Jason Galanis, a former close business associate of Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2020 for his admitted involvement in a scheme to defraud a Native American tribe. The initial jury in Galanis' conviction was overturned, then reinstated. Galanis claims he was the fall-to-guy for the corrupt scheme, all while Hunter Biden was spared and Devin Archer got mildly punished.
Galanis was considered the 'Porn King' from around 2014 on, he achieved this status by creating a successful porn payment provider. He first bought payment provider ePassporte in 2013, then in 2014 iBill, which was at the time considered one of the largest porn payment provider. The combined company of Galanis' ePassporte and iBill was named XBIZ (Payments) LLC, headquartered in California. Under Galanis as its CEO, XBIZ Payments became the largest payment processor for the 'adult entertainment' industry.
XBIZ offered a range of services to its customers, it was able to negotiate better rates with banks and financial institutions. Galanis was able to build trust among businesses, banks and partners - probably also prosecutors - by selling the idea of "strict compliance measures".
Various lawsuits against XBIZ were filed from 2018 until 2021. An ex-employee claimed she never gave XBIZ permission to use her Facebook profile for the promotion of XBIZ services. Another California lawsuit found that XBIZ collected and sold its users' personal information to third parties without their knowledge or consent.
Almost all press references regarding the various lawsuits against XBIZ have been deleted from the web.
In April 2017, Galanis' XBIZ payment unit was acquired by PaySafe Group, a company headquartered in London, UK - XBIZ continued under its own legal name and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of PaySafe. In 2018, PaySafe launched a new marketing campaign for XBIZ. In 2019, XBIZ partnered with Pornhub, one year later in 2020, XBIZ partnered with Mindgeek - the now scandalous parent company of Pornhub.
In April 2017, London-based PaySafe Group also announced a partnership with a Singapore startup named GoBear on a variety of payment processing services to GoBear's customers, these services included credit card processing, ACH processing, and fraud prevention.
GoBear, in turn, is former senior legal advisor and whistleblower Pav Gill's ex-employer shortly before he was hired in 2017 - the time of PaySafe's announcement of a partnership with GoBear - by Germany's now insolvent, former electronic payments giant Wirecard once headquartered in Aschheim near Munich.
Almost all press releases about the partnership between PaySafe Group and GoBear from April 2017 have been deleted from the web.
